Mamaearth Skin Illuminate Face Serum with Vitamin C and Turmeric Review – An Honest Experience

The brand Mamaearth is gaining fast recognition in India and now overseas for its organic products that are not just clean but also for being produced ethically. I wanted to try their products to check if the hype was worth it.

Being very particular about what goes onto my skin, I wanted to give their Skin Illuminate Vitamin C Serum a try.

The reason I chose this product was that I am nearing my 30s and as every dermatologist says, aging starts when we enter our 20s. I may be a little late to start a perfect anti-aging skin regimen, but better late than never right?

Before diving straight into the review, let us first look at the benefits of Vitamin C for our Skin.

Vitamin C is a potent ingredient that offers tremendous amounts of benefits for aging skin.

Mamaearth Skin Illuminate Face Serum review – My Honest Experience

This is not a sponsored post and the review is my own experience

The package comes in a pump bottle and is travel-friendly. The serum is of a creamy texture but when applied to the skin, it spreads very evenly.

It doesn’t make my face oily and is perfect for my acne-prone skin.

My skin has a lot of blemishes and scars and I also have started to observe mouth lines and fine lines under my eyes. To add to it, I have an uneven skin tone as well. I have started to apply this after cleansing my face with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

You can read my honest review of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Here!

After gently cleansing my face, I take a small pea-sized drop of this serum and apply it evenly on my face massaging it in circular motions.

The best part about this serum is it gets absorbed into my skin so easily and doesn’t leave any remains on my face! At the same time, it also hydrates my skin!

I had started using this serum about 2 months back in May and there is still some left.

I have religiously been using it twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night before sleep.

I have used other serums too, but they tend to make my face oily and sometimes irritate my sensitive skin. But, mama earth’s Skin Illuminate serum has been good to my skin till now!

Also, the fragrance is very pleasant and I get a little bit of citrusy smell from the serum.

It has faded my acne scars and also, I see a tad improvement in brightness on my face.

Regarding uneven skin tone and my mouth lines, I am yet to see any difference.

How Do You Use Mamaearth Serum?

  1. Take a few drops of the serum onto your finger tips
  2. Apply dots on your face and slowly massage these dots in circular motions till the serum is absorbed
  3. Now, put on your favorite moisturizer
  4. Apply twice a day for best results

Pros

  1. Improved my acne scars
  2. Easily absorbs into the skin
  3. Does not make the face feel oily
  4. Very suitable for acne-prone and sensitive skin
  5. Brightens the skin and removes dullness
  6. Does not irritate my skin
  7. Pleasant fragrance

Cons

  1. Have not found much improvement in my uneven skin tone
  2. Fine lines and wrinkles have not faded yet but I guess it requires more time
  3. Expensive

Will I recommend MamaEarth Skin Illuminate Serum to my Readers?

3.5/5 : Needs Patience to see results. Those suffering from acne, go for it!
