A study conducted in 2013 shows that turmeric when combined with lauric acid is an effective way to fight acne-causing bacteria.
Curcumin in turmeric has strong anti-oxidant properties that inhibits free-radical production which is the primary reason for aging. This way the cells are protected from damage.
Apart from this, turmeric also helps stimulate new cell growth. Another important benefit of turmeric is it can block the enzyme elastase, which attacks the skin’s ability to produce elastin(a substance that gives structure to your skin by keeping it firm).
If Elastase is left unchecked, your body cannot produce the proteins needed to keep your skin firm and tight.
